From Thomas Wilson   17 December 1891

Immediate

Memorandum,

Referring to the Government Botanist's letter of the 28th ultimo,1 asking to be allowed to remain in his position in order to finish certain scientific work on which he is engaged, the Public Service Board have made the following minute:-

"Before issuing a certificate in this case the Board would require further evidence than has yet been furnished for the necessity of retaining the officer named and desires to know for how long the retention (if granted) will probably be required to enable Baron Von Mueller to complete the scientific work on which he is at present engaged."

The Government Botanist will be so good as to furnish to me as soon as possible the information requisite to enable me to reply.

T. R. Wilson
