Sir,

In reply to your letter of the 1st. instant,1 I am directed to inform you that the question of the control and management of the Botanical Museum after the 31st. March next will shortly receive consideration, and that as soon as a decision shall have been arrived at I shall have the honor of further communicating with you on the subject.

Meantime I am to request you will be good enough at once to give each member of your staff a written notice that as the establishment of the Government Botanist will be abolished on the 31st. March next his services will be dispensed with from that date.
