From Georg Luehmann   19 January 1892

Govt. Botanist's Office

Melbourne, 19th January 1892

Sir

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of the 16th inst.,1 informing me to my great regret that my services in connection with the establishment under your control will be dispensed with after 31st March next. Under these circumstances I have the honor to solicit that you will be good enough to recommend that I may be retained in the Public Service by transfer to an other branch or department. Your flattering assurance that I have given satisfaction to you during my connection with your establishment for nearly 23 years encourages me to hope that I shall also be able to gain the approbation of my future superiors in other branches of the Public Service, in the capacity of either clerk or accountant.2

I have the honor to be

Sir

Your most obedient servant

J. G. Luehmann

Clerk, 4th Class.
