From Ferdinand von Mueller to E. Hackett, W. Hackett, W., Hackett   [Feb 1892]1

[Through the kindness of Baron Sir Ferd. von Mueller, Government Botanist of Victoria, we have received from him a few seeds of some kinds of vitis, which are considered phylloxera-proof, namely : — Vitis cordifolia x v. rupestris; vitis rupestris of Fortworth; vitis rupestris x v. cinerea; vitis riparia x v. rupestris, from Indian territory, grown in France; vitis riparia x v. rupestris. These, with one exception, are hybrids of American vines, and are recommended for stocks for grafting the best sorts of European vines on.
