To John Raddenberry   10 February 1892

10/2/92

The Tecoma, brought by you, dear Mr. Raddenberry, is the variety velutina (de Candolle) of Tecoma stans (Jussieu). The Brachychiton with deciduous leaves is B. paradoxus (Schott), but a variety with paler flowers than on the plants seen by me in the Kimberley Country1 1855 and 1856. The evergreen Brachychiton I now refer to B. bidwilli (Hooker) as a variety with five-lobed leaves, after I have now seen the flowers.

Regardfully your

Ferd. von Mueller
