From Ferdinand von Mueller to Jacob Agardh   5 July 1892

5/7/92.

This week's post, noble Friend, will bring you some algae from Portland Bay.1 Of course there are only common species, but the locality is new. I have made further new attempts to get algae from Champion Bay.2

Should you meet Dr Nordstedt, perhaps you would say in greeting that I will soon send him more Characeaae, although I no longer have the means to financially support the continuation of his fine work on the Australian species, although I gave rise to it and it is based principally on material provided by me for 45 years.3

Respectfully your
