From Ferdinand von Mueller to Duncan McArthur   [Aug 1892]

[The Town Clerk has received for use in the Botanical Gardens fortytwo varieties of flower seeds from Baron von Mueller, of the Phytologic Museum, Melbourne. The gift was not the less acceptable because quite unexpected.]1

Similar supplies were made to Warrnambool (M to H. MacDonald, August 1892 (in this edition as 92-08-00a), Port Fairy (M to J. Prior, August 1892 (in this edition as 92-08-00h), Colac (M to J. McDonald, August 1892 (in this edition as 82-08-00i), Portland (M to J. Crouch, August 1892 (in this edition as 92-08-00j), and Bendigo (M to S. Gadd, August 1892 (in this edition as 92-08-00k). It is also inferred that he sent some to W. Allitt for his nursery at Tyrendarra; see M to W. Allitt, August 1892 (in this edition as 92-08-00l).
