From Joseph Maiden to Ferdinand von Mueller   18 Aug 1892

18th August 92

Dear Baron Mueller,

It is only fair to you to tell you that I am very dissatisfied […]1 Meston's collection of Bellenden Ker [fruits] [bought] for £20.2 There were only about [half] a gallon altogether, few of them named, Mr Bailey tells me most of them were [windfalls], and that no attempt was made to obtain adequate botanical material […] them. A fair price would be [about] £5. They were got in the early part of the present year during a private [ex]cursion. As you know nothing of the circumstances, I think it is only proper you should know how Mr Meston has behaved.

Yours truly

J. H. Maiden.
