To William Thiselton-Dyer   6 September 1892

6/9/92.1

I think, dear Dr Dyer, I should mention, that Phallus vitellinus was described by me in the fragm. phytogr. Austr. VII, 122 (1870).2 The old genus Phallus became however broke up since. It is a singular mistake, that in the Handbook of Australian Fungs,3 some from the Falkland-Islands are included, though the host of one of them is even a Callixene, a genus not represented in Australia proper.

Regardfully your

Ferd von Mueller.
