From Ferdinand von Mueller to Otto Tepper   24 Nov 1892

24/11/92

We the Undersigned beg to propose […]

for the fellowship of the LS., which honor he well merits by his […]

Ein Vierter ist nicht nöthig.

Mit eiligen aber freundlichen Grusse

Ferd. von Mueller.

The consignments of your son from the neighbourhood of the upper Swan River1 will always produce new reference points for the geography of plants, esteemed Mr Tepper, and I would also like to have all Acacias in ripe fruit especially from there.

I am just now sending off seeds of useful plants to Mr Edwards, although the sowing can only occur about Easter.2

I will also support the candidature of Mr Bonython in the Linnean Society very willingly.3 It is sufficient to write on a full sheet.

We the Undersigned beg to propose […] for the fellowship of the LS., which honour he well merits by his […]

A fourth person is not necessary.

With hasty but friendly greetings

Ferd. von Mueller.

J. W. O. Tepper had moved from Roebuck Bay to Beverley, WA.

Possibly Henry Edwards.

It has not been possible to identify which of the Bonythons present in SA at the time is the subject of this comment. No nomination for someone of that name has been found at the Linnean Society of London.
