From Ebenezer Thomas to Ferdinand von Mueller   28 Nov 1892

28 November [189]21

Sir,

With reference to your letter of the 12th instant2 I beg to inform you that the thanks of this Government have already been communicated to the Chief Commissioner of the Forest Department, Burma, for the box of Bamboo seeds which he sent to this Government.

As regards your suggestion that a set of your works should be presented to the Chief Commissioner I beg to point out that the Bamboo seeds are sent as a return for certain Eucalyptus seeds supplied by this Government and it is scarcely thought necessary to make any further exchanges at present.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your most obedient servant

E. J. Thomas

Secretary to the Premier

The Government Botanist
