From Ferdinand von Mueller to Georgina King   4 Dec 1892

4/12/92

Illness and heavy urgent work in the Department, dear Miss King, have prevented me from writing to you earlier in reply to your last communication, and even now I only send some hurried lines on two subjects

1, the Drosera, sent by Mr Bray,1 is D. pygmaea. This plant is not yet known from any locality north of Sydney.

2, I thank you for your friendliness, to put Mr Bray on the search for Aldrovanda.

What a pity, that you cannot make a visit to Central Australia, where you could make many more discoveries than anywhere else in Australia.

Regardfully

your

Ferd. von Mueller.

Mr Bray's double (parasite) Misletoe2 has just arrived. I will write fully to you for him and thank you both very much. The Messenger has just to take my mail to town.

Aldrovanda

Drosera pygmaea

Nothing is known of Bray except that, according to George (2009), p. 302, his initial was 'J'.

Mistletoe?

MS pasted inside a copy of B81.01.04.
