From Archibald Meston to Ferdinand von Mueller   [1893]

Dear Sir Ferdinand —

by this mail I enclose a few small specimens including one from my beautiful "Leptospermum wooroonooran" the glorious dome topped tree from the summit of Bellenden-Ker.1 With the exception of one other specimen all the rest are from the far north west. They are strangers to me (botanically) I shall send you some more next week & shall also get the blacks to collect some for you on the outer coast of Stradbroke Island2

MS found with a specimen of Macadamia whelanii (MEL 1608220) collected in 1893; a specimen of Leptospermum wooroonooran (MEL 2146785) also collected by Meston is similalry recoreded as being collected in 1893, and the MS is dated accordingly.
