Die Pomaderris, welche Sie aus der Torrens-Schlucht senden, geehrter Herr Tepper, scheint mir zu P. vaccinifolia zu gehören; aber bis reife Früchte, die wohl bald zu haben sind, auch verglichen werden können, lässt sich positiv Abschliessendes darüber nichts sagen. Da ja auch in engen Thälern nahe Mt Lofty die Hymenanthera Banksii, Dicksonia Billardierii u einige andere Gewächse der Wald-Thäler Victoria's seltner Weise gefunden sind, so wäre ja das Vorkommen dieser Pomaderris auch bei Ihnen nicht so sehr auffallend.

The Pomaderris that you send from the Torrens Gorge,1 esteemed Mr Tepper, seems to me to belong to P. vaccinifolia;2 but until ripe fruit, which probably are to be had soon, can be also compared, nothing positively conclusive can be said. Since also in the narrow valleys near Mt Lofty Hymenanthera banksii, Dicksonia billardierii and some other plants of the Victorian forest valleys are found now and then, the occurrence of this Pomaderris would also be not so very remarkable in your case.3

At the meeting of the Field Naturalists and Microscopical sections of the Royal Society pf SA held on 14 March 1893, Tepper exhibited a ' specimen of a plant new to South Australia, discovered by Mr. W. H. Selway, jun., at the Torrens Gorge, and identified by Baron von Mueller as Pomaderris Vacciniifolia' ( South Australian register , 15 March 1893, p. 6). See also 'Field naturalists excursion', Evening journal (Adelaide), 23 September 1895, p. 2, where it was reported that Selway was able to locate more specimens in the Torrens Gorge during the excursion of 21 September 1895.
