[Mr. D. A. Crichton received by the last mail an official letter from London informing him that upon the nomination of Baron Von Mueller he had been elected a Fellow of the Royal Horticultural Society of England, in recognition of his book upon fruit culture1 and his literary services to horticulture.]
Crichton (1893).
Letter not found. The text given here is from Argus, 21 April 1893, p. 5. Crichton was elected on at the meeting of the Society held on 14 March 1893 (Journal of the Royal Horticultural Society, vol. 16, p. xi,1893). M's nomination is dated to February 1893 as the latest likely date it would have been sent to be acted upon at the meeting in March.
