From Ferdinand von Mueller to Otto Tepper   31 Mar 1893

31/3/93

Australiensis

31/3/93

It is very pleasing for me, esteemed Mr Tepper, that you intend to assist me in the completion of the Flora australiensis.1 Would you be so kind in occasional leisure hours as to copy out such localities from your herbarium as still not occurring in the specimens sent to me, and also otherwise to write down what you remember about the distribution of species well and reliably known to you. Such data, indicated (O.T), will then be included in the supplementary volume.

Your

Ferd. von Mueller.

A supplementary volume of Bentham & Hooker's Genera2 is neither published nor promised, although such would be more necessary than one for the Flora australiensis.

M was preparing a supplement to Bentham (1863-78), but it was never published; see Clements (1998) and Lucas (2003).

Bentham & Hooker (1862-83).

MS annotation by Tepper: 'Reply 6.4.93'. Letter not found.
