Dear Baron

I see by a notice in one of our Brisbane papers,1 that you have forwarded to the entomologist of the Queensland Museum2 a specimen of Fagus moorei F.v.M. stating that the tree has been met with within the borders of this colony. As you are fully aware of my desire to keep published up to date an account of all the plants of Queensland I should be glad if you would kindly give me the locality where the tree has been met with, as well as any entomological matter relative to it; as I surmise there is something of interest in this line by your sending to the above Gentleman before [noticing] to me the occurrence of the tree in Queensland.

Believe me

Ever yours very truly

F. M. Bailey
