From Thomas Black to Ferdinand von Mueller   25 July 1893

Thursday July 25th 1893

My dear Baron

It is my desire to have my grandson Charles Edward Hogg, eldest son of my daughter Mrs Hogg who is at present on a visit at my house, appointed a member of the Royal Geographical Society of Australasia. I therefore send you a check for Ten Guineas to qualify for that purpose. I believe this is the usual sum required. You will please place yourself in communication with Mr MacDonald The Treasurer for that purpose & request him to place himself in communication with Charles Edward Hogg at my House at Carlton1 for that purpose - & oblige yours sincerely

Thos. Black

To

Baron Sir Ferd Von Mueller

K.M.C.M.G. F.R.G.S.
