From Ferdinand von Mueller to Casimir de Candolle   23 Sep 1893

23/9/93.

It is my intention, honored Sir, to distribute some of my papuan plants to Specialists for description, as my time is so beset with rural work in the Department, as to render it difficult for me working largely phytographically. I would therefore ask, whether you would like to examine the Meliaceae, among likely some novelties would exist.1 You may have other material, supplemental to the exquisite monography written by you.

With profound regards

your

Ferd. von Mueller.

De Candolle evidently accepted M's offer; see M to C. de Candolle, 24 February 1894.

MS annotation by C. de Candolle: 'rep 6,11,93'. Letter not found.
