Letter not found. The text given here is from 'Queenscliff Borough Council', Queenscliff sentinel, Drysdale, Portarlington and Sorrento advertiser, 7 October 1893, p. 4. The date of the meeting of the Council being reported is not given, but on the assumption that it was held after the previous issue of the newspaper was published, it would have been held during the first week of October, and the Clerk's letter to M written soon after the meeting. Note that no formal motion is reported that required the Clerk to contact M, but it is implicit in the article.
