Letter not found. The text given here is from the report of the meeting of the Castlemaine Borough Council held on 5 October 1893 (Mount Alexander mail, 6 October 1893, p. [2]). It is dated to 3 October as the latest date it could have been sent to have been reported at that meeting. Packets of seeds were also sent at this time to Port Fairy (M to S. Avery, October 1893 (in this edition as 93-10-00c), and Ballarat (M to G. Longley, 3 October 1893 (in this edition as 93-10-03a)).
