From Ferdinand von Mueller to Henry Deane   14 Oct 1893

Columbus-Day, 14/10/93

The two parcels with the dried plants from your farthest NW. arrived, dear Mr Deane,1 and I will send you the more valuable specimens back soon, but have not time to label them this day. Perhaps you like, to place them also before the L.S.2 Could your Officers while in the remote NW. win for our interests a local Settler or his Lady? I received also your notes concerning Mr Fitzgeralds orchids, and will attend to this subject early next week.3 I am just extremely pressed with other work.

With regardful remembrance your

Ferd von Mueller

M evidently commenced work on the notes almost immediately; see M to H. Deane, 15 October 1893.
