From Ferdinand von Mueller to the Mildura Irrigationist   6 Nov 1893

[We have received from Baron Von Mueller, Government Botanist, a few packets of seed of the sugar beet—the "White French " and the " White Improved." We will be pleased to supply a few of the seeds to any of the settlers who may desire to experiment with them.]

Letter not found. The text given here is from Mildura irrigationist, 11 November 1893, p. [2], col. f. Assuming that this weekly newspaper would report the availability of the seeds in the next available issue, M's letter is dated to 6 November 1893, as the earliest likely date the seeds would have been sent. Seeds were also sent to the Mildura cultivator and announced in its issue of 11 November (M to the Mildura cultivator, 6 November 1893 (in this edition as 93-11-06a)). Seeds were also distributed to other areas; see M to T. Easton, 16 November 1893 (in this edition as 93-11-16b) and notes thereto.
