From Ferdinand von Mueller to the Australasian   17 Nov 1893

[Name of Thistle.—"Narandera."— Baron F. Von Mueller identifies your specimen as Kentrophyllum Lanatum. It is an annual, and can be destroyed by preventing the plants seeding, either by cutting or pulling up by the roots before the seeds are formed. The plants should be gathered into heaps and destroyed, or they may ripen the seeds if left on the ground.
