To Baron Sir F. von Mueller
Melbourne
My Lord,
Your kind letter of the 13th inst1 is duly to hand, also the list of names of algs for which I feel thankful to you — it is most kind of you to interest yourself on my behalf — I also received Mrs Weber van Bosse's letter safely — I will write to her, and send specimens direct as it will save you trouble Since the receipt of the names of algas I have examined the Caulerpa's more carefully, & think that one of those mounted which I sent to you a short time since — (the one on a long narrow card board) is a frond of Caulerpa longifolia if so it is not rare here — All of the Caulerpa's are plentiful here — I am pleased to know that Professor Agardh has done me the honor of giving one of the algas my name — I would like to know which it is — I will send more roughly dried algas with the hope that "Chrysymenia Husseyana" will be found amongst them2 — Do you know the name used for algas by our Aboriginals?, who I think belong to the "Narrinigeri" tribe — it is "Pinggi Wunggi" —
Wishing you the Compliments of the Season with many thanks
I am yours respectfully
J. L. Hussey
