The item is dated on the basis that January 1894 is the latest that the seeds could have been sent for their arrival to have been reported at this council meeting. The minute continues: 'To be acknowledged with thanks'; letter of thanks not found.
The summary in the Port Fairy gazette provides additional details: 'The Park Ranger stated he had received fifty different kinds of seeds from Baron Von Mueller for planting on the reserves' (Port Fairy gazette, 2 February 1894, p. 2).
