[Statements having been made that a number of horses having been seriously affected, in some cases death resulting, in the Donald district,1 the Inspector of Stock was directed to report upon the matter. On examination he found that a number of plants unfamiliar to him were within the reach of the horses in the paddocks where they were grazing. He collected samples of these and forwarded them to the Government botanist, who reports that all were harmless, with the exception of one named the Euphorbia Drummondi, which in all probability caused the fatal result. This plant has a tendency to increase somewhat rapidly, and therefore should be looked for.]
