From Ferdinand von Mueller to Otto Nordstedt   16 Jan 1894

16/1/94

16/1/94

Accept my best thanks, highly esteemed Doctor, for the transmission of the beautiful portrait of our venerable and celebrated friend Agardh. I suppose this sending arises from the Jubilee celebration of the nestor of algae, in which even Mr Wilson2 and I participated through Professor Toni.3 The portrait shall take a prominent place in my study and so always be before my eyes.4

Respectfully and wishing you every good thing

Ferd. von Mueller

The financial situation in this colony has been so depressed for the last two years that I have had to give up the lithographic work here completely.
