Baron von Mueller,

Dear Sir,

I have just sent per post a grass which I wish you would kindly name & also tell me where it is a native off & also whether it is considered a good usefull grass. I think it is an annual but am not sure. I think it would be good to sow in oat or wheat hay, as it would make a bite in the stubble for sheep.

I am yours truly

Walter Johnstone Junr

Vic.

MS found with a specimen of Echinochloa crus-galli (MEL 35461). MS is a pre-stamped post card addressed:: 'Baron von Mueller | Government Botanist | Melbourne'. and post-stamped: ''KORUMBURRA | VICTORIA | JA 27 | 94'.
