To Joseph Maiden   28 August 1894

28/8/94.

On close examination I find, dear Mr Maiden, must be as a variety of Andropogon nervosus (as as you say Ischaemum laxum) which therefore is new to N.S.W.1 It is a short-spiked form, and differs also in some other respects but so far as I can make out from your specimen, not specifically.

With best remembrance your

Ferd von Mueller.

I have returned the whole specimen by this mail, but you might let me have a little of it for the sake of locality.
