This number not used for a Hussey specimen at MEL.

Number used twice on this sheet, but only once at MEL, for Pseudanthus micranthus, of which Phyllanthus tatei is a synonym (MEL 1512886B, AVH accessed 4 August 2024; APC accessed 22 August 2024). P. tatei is given for the second use of '172', below.

The number was used again in later lists, for Prostanthera coccinea: M to J. Hussey, January 1895 (in this edition as 95-01-00g), and M to J. Hussey, August 1895 (in this edition as 95-08-00h).

This number not used for a Hussey specimen at MEL.

Listed at MEL as Hakea mitchellii, which is not a synonym of M's tentative H. leucoptera.

This number used twice for Hussey specimens at MEL: Comesperma calymega, dated 1894 and the algal Nitospinosa pristoidea, undated.

This number used for an undated algal specimen at MEL.

M. adpressa?

Item is a typescript, transcriber unknown, prepared ca. 1977 from an original MS in the State Library of South Australia, Adelaide.

Except in the cases noted below, M's names match or are synonyms of the identifications used at MEL (AVH, accessed 4 August 2024; APC, accessed 28 August 2024), and are dated 1894. The list follows on from 297, the final number in M to J. Hussey, November 1894 (in this edition as 94-11-00c). It is followed by M to J. Hussey, December 1894 (in this edition as 94-12-00b) that includes Hussey's record number 340, the last of her specimens at MEL to be dated as 1894. This letter is therefore dated to November 1894 as the earliest likely date that could have been written.
