From David Lindsay to Ferdinand von Mueller   31 Dec 1894

Baron Von Mueller K.C.M.G. &c

Dear Sir,

By this mail I send you a specimen of a plant which is reported as having caused the death of a Camel in 20 minutes I am doubtful about this being a poison plant and would like to have your opinion. Am sorry that the specimen is not complete — there being no flowers. — You will notice the seed — I was only 2 weeks in Coolgardie1 when business called me back to Adelaide — It is more than likely that I shall go on to England in March or April next2 — I leave here in about 2 or 3 weeks for Coolgardie and the proposal of a powerful Syndicate is that I should represent them in England in connection with mining ventures. I saw Mr Ernest Giles on his way to Coolgardie, I should imagine from his eagerness to obtain asisstant that he intends exploring new country — I hope he will have a good luck.

[…]3 & Mrs Lindsay join me in wishing you the compliments of the season and our kind regards.

Faithfully yours

David Lindsay
