A young Worker at the Berlin-University, dear Sir James, writes to me for a specimen of Hectorellea2 caespitosa and of Aciphylla Dobsoni.3 He seems to be engaged on some phyto-geographic work, but he has not stated, for what particular purposes he needs these two plants. Should you have a specimen to spare of each, I shall be glad to forward the two to Berlin.4
Let me hope that you are happy and well!

Hectorella?
Letter not found. The 'young worker' was probably Ludwig Diels (1874-1945), who in Diels (1897) listed the distribution of Hectorella caespitosa and Aciphylla dobsoni (both p. 274).
MS annotation by Hector: 'Ansd. Very difficult to get but will keep the matter in view if any officer visits the [several words illegible] JH'.
