My dear Baron

Again to trouble you —

I enclose a small specimen of a plant I found growing on my estate in Spring Water and would be glad to know what it is, and its value

The stock seem so fond of it that I had difficulty in obtaining even the poor specimens I enclose

It is not for want of feed that they keep this close as there was plenty of grass and clover in the same paddock

Yours faithfully

Frank Madden

MS found with a specimen of Juncus articulatus (MEL 696066), collected by Madden at Curdie River, Vic, 1895. MS annotations by M: 'Answ 11/5/95' (letter not found) and 'Juncus primatocarp'.
