From Ferdinand von Mueller to the Verein zur Beförderung des Gartenbaues, Berlin   [June 1895]

[Two photographs were sent by the corresponding member Baron Ferdinand von Müller: 1. A view of the palm Ptychosperma Alexandrae. 2. A view of a river in Australia the surface of which was completely covered with leaves and flowers of the Nymphaea gigantea Hook.1]

Nymphaea gigantea

Ptychosperma Alexandrae

A footnote at this point draws attention to the photograph of the waterlilies having become lost while being passed around at the meeting, and appeals for its return. M sent an apparently similar photograph to England some years earlier; see M to the Gardeners' chronicle, December 1893 (in this edition as 93-12-00c).
