Encouraged and guided by the excellent figure of Calostema album,2 dear Dr Dyer, an other search after bulbs was caused to be made at Turtle Island,3 and thus I am enabled to send you the sorts, this time obtained, and hope you will receive them all right by this weekly mail.

Date stamped: Royal Gardens Kew 16. JUL. 95; annotated in black ink by W. Watson: 327/1895(i.e. register number in Kew Inwards Book of specimens received), in red ink by W. Hemsley: Ackd. 17.7.95 (letter not found), and in black ink by W. Watson on the front of the folio opposite the central margin2 bulbs- Calostemma album 2 tubers — Dioscorea sp. 1 stem — Crinum sp. seeds Telopea oreades.
Calostemma album was illustrated in April 1895 ‘at the suggestion of Sir F. v Mueller’ in Oliver (1891-5),vol.24, plate 2371, using the specimen collected by Robert Brown.
