From Ferdinand von Mueller to Benjamin Robinson   22 June 1895

22/6/95

Allow me to ask, dear Dr Robinson, whether you have a little well matured fresh seeds of Elymus condensatus available? I should be thankful for it. I asked in my last letter1 for some information on the claims of Marshall as the first name-giver of several N. American trees.

Pray remember me kindly to the excellent Prof Goodale.

Always regardfully your

Ferd von Mueller

Best thanks for several litterary sendings of yours

What is your and Prof. Sargents view as regards specific distinctness of Prunus avium and P. Cerasus. Should they be kept apart as more than varieties?

Elymus condensatus

Prunus avium

Prunus Cerasus

See M to B. Robinson, 21 June 1895 (in this edition as 95-06-21a), in which, however, M refers to Marsh, not Marshall.
