To Édouard Bornet   14 September 1895

14/9/95.

It was my intention, dear Dr Bornet, to send you some prepared and named Algs from Mr J Br Wilsons recent collection; but I find that he has now obtained but few duplicates, so that I could only forward a set of 137 to Prof Cornu. As many of these same species will however be already in the "Herbier" from former sendings of mine, I have asked our generous friend to let you have any of the species, which he received before.

You will have received latterly annual sendings of crude Algs, crisply dried from me, and I trust that on preparing these you found many among them new to your own collection. I will continue to send you rough material from time to time as I may be able to obtain it.

With regardful and grateful remembrance your

Ferd. von Mueller

Pray convey my felicitation also orally to all those with whom you will amidst these elevating pleasures come into personal contact.

Among the Guests you will meet also my celebrated friend Prof Ferd. Cohn.3 He is immeasurably gratified just as myself at his recent election.

I hope my letters of Thanks to Prof Chatin, Prof Van Tieghin and all other supporters did […]4
