From Ferdinand von Mueller to Casimir de Candolle   17 Sep 1895

17/9/95

It is very pleasing to learn, that the record of the Flora of the World1 makes such quick and varied progress. I still add frequently to the data of the geographic distribution of the Myoporinae, as, as2 new material from my many amateur-collectors comes in from the interior regions of Australia.

Kindly tell me, as you are overwhelmed with contributions of monographies, whether 1896 would be a good year for me to finish off my manuscript on Myoporinae for you. Would you reexamine the South African genus, which B & H put into Myoporinae,3 and which it is impossible to retain in it I like very much to know where you would place it.

very regardfully your

Ferd von Mueller

I get many specimens of Myoporinae giving new localities, but very rarely any, which represent marked varieties and hardly any new real species.

Even though it begins on a separate sheet with its own date, this may be a continuation of M to C. de Candolle, 16 September 1895 (in this edition as 95-09-16a).
