Ich hatte Fräulein Hussey auf Harvey's Werk aufmerksam gemacht. Es ist aber theuer und hier nicht kaufbar in Buchlädern. Sie hat zufällig ein Exemplar privat erhascht.

 
 

I had made Miss Hussey aware of Harvey's work.1 However, it is expensive and not purchasable in book shops here. She has by chance got hold of a copy privately.2

There are two more herbarium labels of M’s among Agardh’s papers, carrying the following undated notes in M’s hand: (1) ‘Dieser Brief ist eben ohne Couvert bei mir als Einlage angekommen.’ [This letter has just arrived without envelope in my office as an enclosure.]; (2) ‘Diese Sammlungen sollten für die nähere Bestimmung der geograph. Grenzen vieler Ocean-Pflanzen immerhin wichtig sein. Ich hatte viel Mühe und Ausgaben solche zusammen zu bringen.’ [These collections at any rate should be important for the closer determination of the geographical boundaries of many marine plants. I had much trouble and expense to bring them together.] Neither the letter not the collections referred to have been found.
