From Ferdinand von Mueller to the Editor of the Australische Zeitung   11 Dec 1895

Melbourne, 11. Dezember 1895.

Melbourne, 11 December 1895.

Perhaps, honoured Sir, you still have no more accurate news about the unsuccessful German expedition that traversed New Guinea for the first time and in fact at the larger width. Therefore the details that Mr W. Fitzgerald, whom I sent to the British part of the large island as collector, passed over to me might be welcome to you for your fine paper.1

Respectfully

Your

Ferd. von Mueller.
