["G.M.P." (Camperdown).—The herb you have forwarded has been identified by Baron von Mueller as Calocephalus lacteus. Pasture animals dislike it, as it is very bitter, but on that account it can be regarded as a medicinal plant. It is perennial, and therefore cannot be readily subdued. Overpowering it by raising the cocksfoot grass and other strong and nutritive plants on places of growth of this herb is the best means to cope with it. It is indigenous to South-Eastern Australia only.]
