From Ferdinand von Mueller to the Australasian   6 Mar 1896

[" H.G.J."—Baron F. von Mueller identifies the grass you send as a Setaria, allied to the British S. Vortillata,1 but it is far more slender and the barbed bristlets are shorter, which renders the plant less objectionable than the British one. Possibly this grass may be perennial in our climate. It should be a good grass for both sheep and cattle, though of rather a dwarf habit.]
