From Ferdinand von Mueller to the Australasian   22 May 1896

["W. Young."—The plant sent by you has been identified by Baron von Mueller as Inula graveolens. It is a native of the countries bordering on the Mediterranean Sea. This is a very intrusive weed, and as it is not eaten by stock it takes the place of good fodder plants. It should be pulled before the seeds ripen and the plants burned as quickly as possible, or the seeds (of which there are myriads) will mature.]
