From Ferdinand von Mueller to Clara Ryan   7 Aug 1896

7/8/96.

Have sent you some more books for your children,1 dear madam, and will continue such transmissions if you will send me a real good lot of the many different plants occuring in your vicinity, particularly the minutest sorts of which probably numerous species must occur in your vicinity, which the children with their young eyes could well find.

I want the tiny plants particularly this spring for special studies. You will not disappoint me, will you, in this easy and inexpensive task. Are no other bright spirits there to evince an interest in such a subject, more particularly so, as the finders will get credit in my works for any discoveries made.2

With regardful remembrance your

Ferd von Mueller
