This number is not used for a Hussey collection at MEL.

This number is listed as Carex bichenoviana at MEL but is undated. M to J. Hussey, 23 September 1896, commented that it was 'far to young' for secure identification.

This Hussey specimen at MEL is undated.

M to J. Hussey, 23 September 1896, identifies the specimen as Carex paniculata, which is not a listed synonym of Carex tereticaulis, the name used for this specimen at MEL (APC, accessed 7 September 2024).

This number is not used for a Hussey collection at MEL. M to J. Hussey, 23 September 1896, comments that it 'has no flowers but a fungus growth'.

B88.11.02, p. 409.

Item is a typescript, transcriber unknown, prepared ca. 1977 from an original MS in the State Library of South Australia, Adelaide.

The Hussey specimen at MEL with record number 560 is dated September 1896 (AVH, accessed 4 August 2024). The item is therefore dated to September 1896 as the earliest that it could have been sent. M to J. Hussey, 23 September 1896, comments on the dissection of number 563, thus this determination sheet was sent before then.

There is a group of other specimens, record numbers 571-573, 576-578 at MEL, dated September 1896 but not found in any of the Hussey correspondence; these were probably included in the set from which the determinations reported here were made but not reported on by M, who fell ill with a stroke on 24 September.
