From Charles La Trobe to Ronald Gunn   1 October 1853

My dear Gunn

You shall have Dr Müllers report when printed. By the bye, the leaves of the Fagus were brought to me the other day by our Bot. Garden overseer3 from Mt Disappointment to the NE of Melbourne. I think I told you that Müller had found it on Wilson's Promontory. Some of his recent discoveries in the higher ranges, the Devils River, or Delatite Country, are really beautiful.

Yours truly

C. J. Latrobe
