Verehrtester Freund!

So I have to be content with the arranging and the placing here and there of the beautiful Mueller plants, and the Myoporineae are only now finding their settlement. That you, as you mention in your last letter, do not enclose the Haloragheae orthe Myoporineae does not matter, perhaps you can enclose the remainder when you have finished the Mueller families. As you will see from the Linnaea, Bentham completed the Acacias,2 the Papilionaceae are to follow soon. Bartling and Miquel are taking a rather long time.

I have received splendid things, which he has in part described himself, in both the last consignments from Mueller. However, I may no longer sell things; since Mueller is Government Botanist, I may only exchange still from the duplicates that now also arrive in smaller numbers. The latest discoveries in the Snowy Mountains, where the vegetation appears pretty conformable with that of Van Diemen's Land, are interesting. If Mueller remains healthy, he will soon produce a complete picture of the southern Australian flora. An enthusiasm exists in that person, who is still not 30 years old, such as I have never observed before.
