ist aus der im Staatsanzeiger erfolgten Veröffentlichung bekannt dass S. Maj. der König vermöge H. Entschliessung v. 6. Juli d. J. den Direktor des botan. u. zoologischen Gartens zu Melbourne in Australien Herrn Dr. von Müller in den erbl. Freiherrnstand zu erheben gnädigst geruht haben.

Ich habe nun dem Freiherrn von Müller zunächst ersucht mir seine Wünsche in Betreff des ihm zu ertheilenden Wappens mitzutheilen. An Folge dessen hat mir derselbe den hier angeschlossenen Entwurf eines Wappens mit dem Bemerken übermacht, dass er es meinem Ermessen überlasse die durch die Heraldik etwa gebotenen Aenderungen vorzunehmen.

Bezüglich d. Wappen2 Farben hat3 Brn Müller4 keinen Wunsch geäussert. Ich ersuche nun E. Hochw. eine Skizze des Brn Müller zu ertheilenden Wappens unter Berücksichtigung seiner Wünsche, soweit dies nach den Regeln der Heraldik thunlich erscheint gef. zu entwerfen5 und mir behufs der Mittheilung an Brn Müller zukommen lassen zu wollen —

It is known from the announcement in the Staatsanzeiger 7 that His Majesty the King in consequence of the decision of 6 July this year has graciously deigned to raise the Director of the botanical and zoological garden at Melbourne in Australia Dr von Mueller to the hereditary rank of baron.8

I have now first of all requested Baron von Mueller to tell me his wishes in respect to the coat of arms to be granted to him.9 As a consequence he has transmited a design enclosed here with the remark that he leaves it to my judgement to make the changes perchance prescribed by heraldry.10

With reference to the colours of the arms Baron Mueller has expressed no wish. I now request your honour kindly to draft a sketch of the arms granted to Baron Mueller considering his wishes as far as possible according to the rules of heraldry and to send me for the purpose of communication to Baron Mueller.
