My dear Will
I sent the cheque & received the Receipts from the "Scottish Widows" —
I now send you a cutting from Daily News of yesterday, in case you do not see it, — with a fine American mining-camp story — the "Sloccum[sic] Statue" — with the richest lot of Americanisms I have seen for a long time.
There is also a fine letter from Hyndman, about as clear and clinching as anything I have read for a long time.
When do you think of coming [2] home? We shall be quite ready for you after next Monday. It looks as if we were going to have dry frosty weather for some time — Very hard frost last night, and East wind to day.
Your affectionate Pa | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
